Title
bury : brooch
Overview
The Buried brooch turns wearing into a quiet form of excavation.
Photographed on Menashe Kadishman’s installation Shalekhet (Fallen Leaves) at the Jewish Museum Berlin, the work responds to the metallic echoes produced with each step.
As the brooch presses against the body, its partially exposed fragments resonate with the floor’s clattering steel faces— revealing the tension between what is buried and what insists on emerging.
Series Statement
Body heat, pressure, and friction interact with buried chains and residues, allowing hidden structures to surface through cracks and polished edges.
Each brooch becomes a small landscape where what is covered and what emerges remain in constant tension.
